Welcome!!!
We would like to welcome all of our families to the Zebra Room! We’re so excited to see all of these familiar Cheetah faces as Zebras.
With a change of room, there will be changes in expectations, activities and learning. The Zebra Room is all about independence! There’s nothing like the first time you get dressed all by yourself or zip up your coat without any help! We will definitely be introducing those kids of things. We’ll focus on clothing, shoes, using tissues, cleaning up toys when finished playing with them and using the potty. Continuing these tasks at home will help your little one in the process of becoming more and more independent. “I did it all by myself!” is such as a great thing to hear.
Along with a little more responsibility, comes more “big kid” activities and opportunities. We have a computer with age-appropriate games for the beginner or the computer whiz! We’ll begin to practice drawing letters, shapes, and people and hone in on some small manipulative skills. Books are also a big deal in the Zebra Room.
Reading skills start at a very early age and we like to cater to that learning ability with story times galore!
We’re so excited to get to know each of you better and start this new chapter with smiles, laughter and lots of fun!
Communication
We have a parent board located just inside our classroom as well as on the wall right outside our door in the hallway. Both boards contain very important information and should be glanced at each day.
We also communicate through the journals and email system on GOLD. We are also available during quiet time each day if you need to phone us for any concerns or suggestions.
Opening and Closing
If you arrive prior to 7:00am your child should be dropped off in the Cafeteria. At 7:00am a Zebra teacher will be in and available for dropoffs at that time. The Zebra room will close at 5:30 at which time we will join our friends in the Cheetah Room.
