The Caregiver’s Routine and Opportunities
The caregiver’s routine is the gentle and compassionate care of children in a safe and loving environment, enhancing and nurturing individual development through the acknowledgment of diversity and individuality of every child.
The routine is a special opportunity to enhance the relation between caregiver and child that will provide consistency, sense of worth, security, and a feeling of belonging for the child. The caregiver’s routine is an important opportunity to make a positive difference in a child’s life.
Staff will provide developmentally appropriate opportunities that foster and encourage independence and self-help skills; encouraging children to pick and put away toys in the proper spaces, wipe up spills, personal cleanliness, and obtaining and caring for materials.
Staff help children gain an understanding of self and others through positive guidance and interactions that fosters an atmosphere of kindness, personal respect, individuality, constructive support, and receptiveness. The staff facilitate relations with the children to provide opportunities for development of self-worth, social competence, and academic growth.
Staff help children use their knowledge, skills, and self-determination when making choices and solving problems. It is the focus of the caregiver to encourage empathy and sensitivity towards the needs and feelings of others.
Kids’ Safari Learning Center is a “bucket filling” school. Respect, care and friendship are supported through the utilization of the bucket filling concept; Carol McCloud’s book “Have You Filled Your Bucket Today?” is the foundation for this conception.
